The first edition of Guaranteed To Succeed was held in Ibadan, Nigeria in May 2017. This program was developed to encourage young adults believe that there is still hope for them to be successful in their country. This hope is not with respect to their current situations which for some, appeared to be bleak.
With a largely university audience, we sought to financially encourage those of whom were actively attempting to start their own enterprises. Holding a raffle for a N50,000 entrepreneurship giveaway, we were able to award the grand prize to one individual looking for funding to purchase seeds for cassava farming. The second through fourth place raffle winners were given tablets.
Though the response was good, we received an overwhelmingly large number of questions from those that were in attendance. With that in mind, we decided to make this program into a seminar format.
This format proved to be edifying for all of the attendee’s.
