Health is wealth, but for many communities in Nigeria, access to basic healthcare remains a luxury. On August 1st, 2025, Ed Harrison Mission Nigeria took a bold step to bridge this gap by organizing a free medical outreach for the people of Ologuneru, a suburban area in Ibadan.

The outreach was more than just a medical event, it was a lifeline.

Why We Did It

At Ed Harrison Mission Nigeria, we believe that knowing the status of your health is the first step to living a better life. Many people ignore symptoms or suffer in silence due to lack of funds or access to healthcare facilities. Our goal was simple: bring healthcare to the people, where they are.

What Happened

The outreach kicked off in the early hours of Friday, August 1st, with a dedicated team of medical professionals and volunteers setting up at a central location in Ologuneru. By mid-morning, people had already begun arriving, some out of curiosity, others with pressing health concerns.

Over the course of the day, at least 85 people benefited from the outreach. The services offered included:

• Free health checks (blood pressure, blood sugar, BMI, malaria screening, etc.)
• Basic medical consultations
• Distribution of free medications
• Health advice and counseling

Every participant left with more clarity about their health and a dose of hope, some for the first time in years.

Real Impact, Real Stories

From elderly women who hadn’t checked their blood pressure in years, to young children showing signs of malaria, the outreach served a diverse crowd. One mother who came with her three children, Mrs Shakirat said:

“I didn’t even know my blood pressure was high until today. I’m grateful for this opportunity. May God bless everyone who made it possible.”
