At ED Harrison Mission Nigeria, we believe that real impact begins with empowering people, and that’s exactly what we set out to do with our most recent community project.
Giving Back Through Skills that Matter
As part of our ongoing commitment to giving back to the society, we recently organized a free 8-week intensive training programme focused on solar battery and inverter installation. This initiative was more than just a training — it was an investment in people, in communities, and in the future of clean, sustainable energy in Nigeria.
We recognized a growing need:
- Youths seeking practical skills
- Communities facing irregular power supply
- A rising demand for alternative energy solutions
So we combined all three into one powerful project.
A Blend of Theory and Practice
The training wasn’t just about textbooks and lectures. Each session was structured to include hands-on practical experience alongside essential theoretical knowledge. From understanding how solar panels work, to configuring inverter systems, to real-life installation scenarios — our students got it all.
They learned:
🔋 The science behind solar energy
⚙️ Safe installation techniques
💡 Troubleshooting and maintenance
🔌 System configuration and battery management
And all of this — at no cost to them.
Throughout the course, we watched a remarkable transformation happen. People who had little to no prior knowledge were soon wiring systems, analyzing setups, and speaking confidently about DC-to-AC conversions.
Many students expressed deep appreciation:
With the growing energy crisis and the need for renewable solutions, our solar and inverter training project wasn’t just timely , it was necessary. We’re proud to have equipped a new set of community members with life-changing, income-generating skills.

And this is just the beginning.
ED Harrison Mission Nigeria remains committed to empowering lives through vocational training, spiritual growth, and community development. As we continue to explore new ways to serve, we’re reminded that every skill shared is a seed planted for a brighter, more sustainable future.
